Good Places for Artists to Network

​As an artist networking is important for yourself, your career, and your socialization. A few good places to network are of course social media, forums like Reddit and Quora, and any events around the city you are interested in.   

Showcases are great to perform at of course and network. You never know who you will meet from DJs and artists in your area. Ensure that you stick around and talk with people after you perform, don't just leave.

Fashion shows are great because you can meet designers and models. Building a relationship with designers will allow you to have exclues pieces and for more exposure on both of your behalfs. The models you meet may be open to appearing in your videos or event with you!

Networking Mixers are a great place to rub shoulders with everyone in the city and promote yourself. Ensure that you have business cards, a QR code, or copies of your album to hand out. Do not be scared to walk around and talk with everyone and join in conversations causally!

Using forums is a good way to get unbiased opinions while getting more knowledge, and building a community that you can converse with. Common forums are sites like Tumblr, Quora, Reddit, and even craigslist believe it or not. You can find answers to about everything and any situation on forums. 

At music conferences, there are people from everywhere! You can meet DJs, executives, small business owners, and possibly a&rs. Just like every other event networking is key here! A professional tip would be to take down the emails of everyone you come across.  

Of course, you can use social media to network with people from everywhere without putting in an extreme amount of work. On social media ensure that you are marketing yourself using hashtags, engaging with people, and are directing your traffic to your latest single that you are marketing. Come up with a social media marketing plan, and some dope content to keep your audience involved.
